Life Lists
A life list—a list where you write the things you hope to do or accomplish before you die—can be a great tool for helping you get more out of each day. Experts say that the very act of putting your goals on paper increases the chance you'll achieve them.
While writing The Next Thing on My List, I talked to lots of people doing life lists. I met a guy who wanted to go one week without swearing and a girl who was halfway to her goal of visiting every state. I encountered future skydivers, novelists, marathoners...and a photographer who'd pledged to snap a picture of his daughter every day (and was successfully doing so).
MY LIFE LIST BLOG
I tried an experiment where I set out to do one new, fun or challenging thing every day—it was an amazing experience! I blogged about it on My Life List.
40 DAYS - FREE DOWNLOAD SHORT STORY
Here's a short story I wrote called "40 Days" that originally appeared in the anthology American Girls About Town. It's inspired by my own 40-day life list experiment (although entirely fictionalized!) about a woman who decides to shake up her life by trying one new thing every day for 40 days - download "40 Days" here in pdf format.
MY FIRST TV APPEARANCE ... WITH "MRS. BRADY!"
One of the items on my life list was to get on TV, and I did ... to talk about life lists! Here I am on Living Live TV with hosts Florence Henderson (yes, Mrs. Brady), and Meshach Taylor (from Designing Women). It was far less scary than I thought it would be—dare I say, even kind of fun?
